Copies of our Annual Report, Audited Financial Statements, proposed by-law changes as well as revised policy on nominations will be available for pick up at our reception desk after June 9th, 2010.

The Port Hope Community Health Centre believes that good oral health is an important part of good overall health.

Our dental team which includes a dentist, hygienist and dental assistant provide basic dental care 1 1/2 days per week to those who cannot access care due to financial hardship such as those on Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support and those with a low annual income who do not have access to dental benefits.

Because cost of dental care is not covered by our provinical health care system the PHCHC charges a fee to recover the costs associated with this service so that we can continue to prvide this important component of care.

Those who do not have a dentist and have not been able to obtain necessary dental care due to financial limitations can call the CHC to arrange for an appointment.

All workshops are open to the genreal public, registration is required.

1. Nutrition Labels 101 & what is a health diet ? Wednesday Feb. 3rd 1:30-3:30pm
2. Soups On! Hearty Low fat & sodium soups to make at home. Friday Feb. 4th 10:00-noon  we will be taste testing.
3. So what is the big deal about high blood pressure?  Tuesday Feb 9th 10:30-noon
4. Women’s Health – what test at what age and much more. Wednesday Feb. 10th 1:30-3:30pm
5. Makin your everyday meals Diabetes friendly. This is a four week series, you will be chopping, stiring and taste testing.  Tuesday Feb.16th 10:00-noon
6. Clean out your medicine cabinet!  Pharmacist on hand to answer all your questions. Monday Feb. 22nd 1:00-3:30pm
7. 55 Alive Safe Driving  two day workshop (6hrs) lots of great tips and information Thursday Feb 25th & Friday Feb 26th 9:00-noon. $15.00 workbook fee.
8. So you have Diabetes, now what? Friday Feb. 26th 1:30-3:30pm

Not sure how old that medication is in the back of your cupboard? Does medication expire?

Have you had a medication change and have medication left over from your original order?

The Pharmacist from the Drug Store Pharmacy at Davis Your Independent Grocer will be at the Community Health Centre on Monday Feb.22 from 1:30-3:30pm. They will collect and dispose of your unwanted medications and answer any questions you might have.  You can bring in prescripton, over the counter and herbal medications. No sharps please.
