What is a member?
When you sign up as a member of the PHCHC you are becoming a member of the corporation. You do not have to be a client of the PHCHC to become a member however you must reside or be employed within our catchment area. By becoming a member, you are showing your support for community-based health care.
What is the difference between a member and a client?
A client is someone who is registerd for programs and service at the PHCHC (receives care, attends groups).
A member is someone who is supporting and contributing to the business of the corporation.
What do members do?
As a member you may:
- Vote for the election of members to sit on the Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
- Run for and become elected to sit on the Board of Directors
- Vote on issues that are brought tot he membership at the AGM, such as by-law changes;
- Receive copies of corporate documents such as the Annual General Report and the newsletter which is published three times per year.
- Have input into the future direction of the CHC through forums and meetings to which members are invited.
Why is membership important?
Membership indicates the vitality of our community and its commitment to having a voice in our health care. Becoming a member of the Community Health Centre indicates your support to the mission and vision.
How do I purchase a membership?
The Board of Directors has set an annual membership fee of $2.00. Applications for membership are available at the front reception desk at the Centre or by downloading the form below. Memberships expire and renewal is required.
