Health Promotion
Health Promotion is a the process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve, their health. Health Promotion is an essential part of the community health centre program. As such we accept the core concepts in the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion, (World Health Organization, 1986) which was further defined in 2002 as ” the process of enabling people to increase control over the determinats of health and thereby improve their health”. Participation is essential to sustain health promotion action.
